.KE like the familiar .COM's are both Top Level Domains (TLD's) on the DNS structure. The .KE has a region association ,Kenya, while .COM is "homeless". Thus with a .KE one gets the same services as a .COM or .ORG plus an Identity of being KENYAN.
There is an 90% chance of getting your organizations or easy to remember name under .KE if you register today. However at the .COM level the chances are limited to 1 in 30 million names.

Its takes a maximum of 24 Hrs to have a domain registered in the .KE once all requirements have been met.

KE domains cost between Kshs 800 and Kshs 3000 per year for registration and renewal, depending on the extention.
When do I pay for my domain name?
Domain names fee are payable immediately the domain is registered.
All existing domains are subject to annual renewal fees. The Renewal date is usually in one year incremental from the date of domain registration.
Can People Outside Kenya Register .KE Domains?
.KE domain name registrations are currently only available to person or organisations with a physical presence in Kenya. .KE domains will soon be opened for global registration.We are giving Kenyan companies an opportunity to claim their .KE property prior to opening it for global registrations. Kenyan companies and organizations are therefore encouraged to claim their domains during this window to avoid possible disappointment later.
